Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her ability to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition and placing in the top two in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. She then attended at the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her competitions.
